Keep your kids safe with Kristen Bell's savvy parenting trick

Have you ever needed to unload some items from your car, but you need to keep an eye on your kids at the same time?

Here’s actress Kristen Bell’s solution: Next time your children are hopping out of the vehicle and you have things to unload, try yelling “Hands on the circle!” — referring to the gas cap.

If they listen, you won’t have to worry about chasing them down.

And hey, if you think this sounds borderline silly, just remember: The simplest ideas can end up being the best. Who knows? It’s one fewer thing to worry about and you just may save a life.

Even if it won’t work for your family -- maybe your kids are too old, who knows? -- pass it on.

Bell posted about this trick on her Instagram page, saying that the idea came from her “brilliant” sister-in-law.

“(It’s) thus far kept all kiddos safe from any oncoming traffic while I unload the trunk,” Bell wrote on social media.
