There are several ways you can get one on the cheap.
A standard Costco membership is $60 a year.
Now through the end of 2018, college students can sign up and get a $10 Costco cash card. Anyone can get an executive membership for $120 and get a $20 cash card. The executive membership also gives you 2 percent back on all purchases.
Check deal sites frequently. Living Social, Deal News and Groupon all offer Costco membership deals frequently that include coupons that pay for the cost of the membership, so it's like you're getting it for free.
If you plan to travel to Mexico, you can get a Costco card there for 500 pesos, or $26. Then you can use that card anywhere in the world.
You don't even need a Costco card in Texas to get the warehouse's low prices on prescriptions, alcohol or food from the food court.
