If your child or teenager wants to learn to tailslide or ollie, sign them up for free skateboarding lessons at a Houston skate park. Lessons are Tuesdays through Fridays for 6- to 17-year-olds.
If you've got a budding filmmaker, you'll want to be first in line for Apple Camp. It's a free 3-day workshop on iMovie for children 8 to 12 years old. Summer dates haven't been announced yet, but you can sign up to be notified when they are.
Disney Stores across the country are hosting Summer Play Days every day through Sept. 5, with different activities each day. Children 3 and older get a free Tsum Tsum wristband each week. Call your local store for times and activities.
Make reservations for free pottery classes at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens (hyperlink to: ). The 2-hour class is for children and their caregivers every Friday in August. Sign up now, because classes will fill up fast.
