When we buy toys for our kids, it's always nice to find something that will hold their attention. Toy that children can go back to again and again really pay for themselves. Consumer expert Amy Davis is putting the Wubble Bubble to that time test.
There are several versions of the Wubble Bubble. We tried out the Tiny Wubble and the GloWubble.
Channel 2 social media producer Scylla Lopez took the GloWubble home for her 4-year-old son Sam. It's supposed to glow when you turn off the lights; but Lopez could not get the glow solution or lubricant inside the ball. The product comes with a small pouch of jelly that you squeeze into the opening of the ball before you fill it with air.
"It does not really go in there!" said Lopez, as she struggles with the messy solution.
Sam happily settled to just blow up the giant bubble with an included pump and then bounce it around the house.
Tiny Wubbles come with a straw to blow up the Wubbles and a smaller price tag of $4.99 each.
We sent morning anchor Rachel McNeill home with two of them for her boys Lionel and Hudson. Just like in the commercial, the boys punched, kicked and headed the ball. They both said they liked them. The Wubble Bubbles do lose air over time, but Rachel was able to refill them the following day; and they were like new.
Rachel had previously tried the large version of the Wubble that cost her $25. She said two of them popped within 20 minutes when Lionel and Hudson played with them outside. She wouldn't spend that amount of money again, but said the smaller Wubbles may be worth the money.
Back at Scylla's house, even though Sam is an easy kid and liked the non-glowing GloWubble, mom wouldn't so easily part with $20 for the product.
"No, no- I don't think I would pay more than $5 for this," said Lopez.
