Half-priced Houston Rodeo Carnival tickets on sale

HOUSTON – The deadline for half-priced tickets to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo carnival is quickly approaching.

Ticket buyers actually save more than 50 percent, since a $32 carnival pack only costs $10. That price includes 22 tickets, as well as refreshment and merchandise coupons. For $50, families can get a carnival pack with 150 tickets, plus double the coupons. The deal is available online, but only until Saturday.

There's a new study out for travelers who shop plane tickets by comfort instead of lowest fares. According to SeatGuru, JetBlue offers the most leg room on economy seats compared to other major airlines, with a cozy 34 inches between fliers. Virgin America came in second, with two inches less than that. Delta, U.S. Airways and American Airlines all have 31 inches. Spirit came in dead last, giving flyers only 28 inches of wiggle room.

And apparently, shopping on an empty stomach doesn't only make food look more appealing. According to a study from Health Day News, hunger may push shoppers to buy more nonfood items. During one experiment, hungry participants asked for more office supplies than those who were filled up. And in another, researchers scanned department store receipts and revealed the hungrier people bought more in general.
