Gas prices may be dropping, but drivers are still trying to save money at the pump.  Consumer Reports has put the brakes on some common gas myths that won't make a difference in what you pay to fill up.

According to the report, filling up your tank during cooler weather will not get you any more gas for your money.

Although fuel economy was affected in older engines, tests done by Consumer Reports show driving with a dirty air filter does not impact current vehicles.  

The same is true about warming up the car before driving off from the pump.  Consumer Reports says that only affected older engines too.

Finally, driving with the windows open does not affect the amount of fuel use.
