The company said its name is being used on checks and letters mailed to consumers, claiming the recipients are winners of a sweepstakes.
The letter instructs recipients to cash the check and then wire funds to offset international taxes before collecting winnings.
Aflac said the checks are bogus and urges consumers to disregard any letters or checks bearing the company's name that offers a sweepstakes.
