Employee shoots supervisor at Dickinson car dealership, police say

DICKINSON, Texas – An employee is accused of shooting a coworker Friday at the Gay Family Auto Service Center in Dickinson.

Joshua Allen Lee, 29, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in the shooting of Michael Pavlas.

Pavlas, 38, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to Clear Lake Regional Medical Center.

The shooting was reported just after 11 a.m.

According to Dickinson police, Lee was upset about the number of hours he was being asked to work by Pavlas, who is his supervisor.

Pavlas was shot in his office.

After the shooting, police said Lee drove off in his 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, but was captured by police after a three-mile pursuit ended hear his Friendswood home.

Lee ran from the vehicle, but officers said they used a Taser to take him into custody.

He was carrying a .357 revolver, police said, but he does not have a license to carry a handgun.

Lee was taken to Dickinson City Jail and is being held on an $80,000 bond.

Police said an additional charge of felony evading is expected to be filed against Lee.
