HOUSTON – A 15-year-old was named the grand champion at the 2017 Junior Market Steer Auction, which took place Saturday at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.
Jagger Horn, 15, of Anson, Texas, was named grand champion. Abilene FFA was the name of the club/chapter and the steer's breed is a Charolais.

The selling price was $345,000. The world record, which was set in 2002, remains at $600,001.

Stock Martin, 16, of Hereford, Texas, was given the title of reserve champion. Oldham County 4-H was the name of the club/chapter.
The Other Cross steer's selling price was $330,000.
