Woman faces charges after NE Houston apartment shooting, officials say

HOUSTON – A 32-year-old woman is facing an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge after authorities said she shot a 29-year-old woman in northeast Houston on June 11.

Darnecia Elease Bonner is accused of shooting Zakia Jenkins at an apartment at 9002 Sterlingshire Street around 10:10 a.m.

Bonner left the scene before officers arrived at the scene, but later turned herself in to authorities.

Jenkins was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition, according to investigators.
