Wanted gang member arrested after chase in southwest Houston

Police says officer spotted 19-year-old Kevin Molina Wednesday morning

HOUSTON – One of Houston's most wanted gang members was arrested after a police chase in southwest Houston.

Houston police said an officer spotted 19-year-old Kevin Molina along Braeswood Boulevard about 9 a.m. on Wednesday.

"We've been actively looking for him since last year," Officer Robert Gonzalez said. "He's an active gang member."

Police said Molina had an outstanding warrant on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The officer who spotted Molina tried to pull him over, but Molina took off, investigators said.

Molina led officers on a chase that lasted about five minutes and ended on Gessner near Jason, police said. Speeds during the chase reached 75 mph.

Molina was taken into custody and will face an additional charge of evading arrest, officers said.

According to stophoustongangs.org, Molina is a member of the La Primera gang.
