Video released of 2 men accused of killing man with knockout punch

Houston police hope surveillance video will lead to murderer

HOUSTON – Houston police have released surveillance video of two men accused of killing a man with a fatal knockout punch last July 3.

The incident was reported at 11:15 p.m. in the 8300 block of Boone Road. 

In the video, two Hispanic men, one wearing a white T-shirt and the other wearing a black T-shirt, pulled into the parking lot of a convenience store. Police said the pair got out of a dark-colored four-door sedan and returned several minutes later. Police said a third person was stayed in the back seat of the vehicle.

Police said the video inexplicably stops for a short time and then resumes.

Police said the video then showed Felipe D. Meza, 43, lunging at the man wearing the white T-shirt, who then knocked Meza to the ground with a punch. Police said the two men got into their vehicle and left the scene.

 Meza suffered blunt-force trauma to the head. He was taken to a hospital, where he died 3 days later.

It is unknown what started the altercation.
