HOUSTON – An American hero is fighting an uphill battle. The Army veteran is used to taking on an enemy, but his fight tonight is with the U.S. Postal Service.
Jesse Diaz of Pearland said he’s not receiving medications prescribed by the VA that he desperately needs.
Diaz said this has been going on for the past six months.
He’s a disabled Army veteran with a spinal cord injury and suffers from a wide range of issues with his neck, back and legs. Diaz said he recently tracked one medication that was supposed to be delivered on May 1 and it never showed up to his house.
Diaz said his medications would sometimes get delivered to a neighbor’s house, but when he started complaining to the U.S. Postal Service, the pain and nerve medication started disappearing altogether.
That’s when he contacted KPRC for help.
“It’s been pretty much a nightmare," Diaz said. "I got over to the post office and I try to talk to them and everything else and sometimes I get the run around. We don't know where it's at. We don’t know where it's been we have to try and track it down for you. I just hope the post office can resolve their issues so we can actually get prescription medications to the veterans when they are prescribed by the VA."
