USPS contract driver robbed at gunpoint

HOUSTON – U.S. Postal Service officials said two armed crooks robbed one of their contract drivers, and they're offering a reward for their capture.

The robbery happened Thursday at the I-10 west entrance ramp from Louisiana Street.

Investigators said one of the robbers got out of their car, pulled out a weapon and ordered the driver out of the vehicle. He then took off in the contract driver's vehicle, officials said.

Investigators said the crooks were driving a red 2001 Chevrolet Impala.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the robbers. Officials said the criminals should be considered armed and dangerous.
