Undelivered mail frustrates SW Houston condo residents

HOUSTON – Jerry Hobby is not a mail carrier.

He lives at a southwest Houston condo, and on Tuesday he found an open mail box full of undelivered mail.

"There's all kinds of stuff in here and it's been building up for months," he said. "I noticed it was full of mail. There are hundreds of pieces of mail that were all crammed in here over a period of time."

Hobby believes it has been going on for months.

He says most of the mail doesn't belong to the complex.

"It looks like it's the end of the day, we're hot, we're going to start discarding mail and this is where they've been hiding it," he said.

It's not only Hobby.

"Every day we have a stack of mail that's not ours. And it's not just me, it's all the neighbors," Grizelda Naradez said.

Neighbors say they keep having to return mail to postal workers.

"We pay for first class mail ... People expect service and it's absolutely disgusting they're throwing our mail away," Hobby said.
