2 hurt in drive-by shooting in south Houston

HOUSTON – Two people were sent to the hospital after a drive-by shooting south Houston Thursday. 

Police said at around 11:30 p.m., two people were standing outside their car at a home on the 3700 block of Yosemite, when someone in a car drove up and started shooting.

A man was hit in the chest and a woman was shot in the arm. The driver got away, according to investigators. 

Police said the two drove nearly a mile to a gas station on Yellowstone and Highway 288 for help. 

They were both transported to Ben Taub hospital. The woman is in stable condition. The man is in serious but stable condition. 

Police have not released a description of the suspect vehicle.
