Men rob, beat Houston store employee, police say

Reward offered for information leading to arrest of two men

HOUSTON – Crime Stoppers and the Houston Police Department are offering up to $5,000 for information leading to two men in connection with an armed robbery.

Police said the victim was closing his store in the 3700 block of Lockwood Drive just after midnight Monday, Sept. 28 when two men wearing full masks, hoods and gloves and armed with handguns rushed in. One man pushed the victim to the floor and hit him in the head several times with a pistol, police said.

"I don't come around here at night, mostly in the daytime but it really doesn't matter because if people want to rob, they rob right in the middle of the daytime, they don't care. They what what they want, they are going to get it." said resident, Robert Booker.

According to police, the man stole money and the victim's phone while the other man acted as a lookout.

"Yea, it worries me, I have to live around here so until I can do better I have to put up with the crap but I just hope that law enforcement catches up with them." said Booker.

The two men left together in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS or online at www.crime-stoppers.org. Those with tips may remain anonymous.
