HOUSTON – We have a warning for people who walk, jog or run near Rice University after a woman says a man has exposed himself to her several times.
The victim says it is the fourth time in the past few months that she has been jogging along this trail when the man jumps out of the bushes and exposes himself.
"We walk together so he will have a hard time on his hands dealing with both of us," said Tara Pittman-Gray.
She and Laronda Foster power walk near Rice University almost every day. They were shocked when they learned police are looking for a man who has flashed the same woman four times while she was jogging on the sidewalk outside of campus near Entrance 8 on University Boulevard.
"Nobody cares what you have in your pants. That is very upsetting," said Foster.
The suspect is described as a stocky Hispanic man, approximately 5 foot 6 and around 25 years old. He is seen wearing dark clothing similar to a uniform worn by restaurant employees and usually has a mountain bike with him.
"People that engage in this behavior, they get their gratification from simply being seen. So our thing right now is to see if we can identify him and make an apprehension," says Rice University Police Chief Johnnie Whitehead.
Foster and Gray say the suspect would be better off turning himself in then running into the two of them.
"I think if he comes out and flashes me, I think he won't like it. My first reaction would be kick, scratch and bite," Foster said.
