Oscar De La Rosa of La Mafia assaulted at Blur Bar

HOUSTON – The lead singer of Grammy-award winning Tejano group La Mafia was beaten outside of a Montrose bar early Monday morning.

According to investigators, Oscar De La Rosa and a friend were leaving Blur Bar on Pacific and Crocker Street when a man who was kicked out of the bar earlier attacked them.

The man struck De La Rosa in the head several times before fleeing the scene, Houston Police said.

According to La Mafia's Facebook page, De La Rosa was rushed to Memorial Hermann Hospital and "suffered severe face lacerations and possible damage to his right eye."
