HOUSTON – Police say a 28-year-old woman with a criminal past has been accused of attacking someone with a meat cleaver.
According to investigators, Meagen Perez, 28, punched one of her family members after a confrontation. She then attacked the man with a meat cleaver, said police.

Perez has been charged with aggravated assault. Authorities said she is being held without bond and is jailed in the Harris County Jail Facility in downtown Houston.
Police said Perez was also charged with assault in 2009.
