HOUSTON – Police are investigating what caused a 3-car pileup on the Southwest Freeway.
It happened Sunday around 3:15 a.m. on Highway 59 and Highway 288.

For unknown reasons a car traveling southbound slammed into the plastic barrels at the Highway 288 split.
According to police, the car came to a stop in the middle of the roadway with no lights.
A pickup truck traveling down the highway did not see the car, could not stop in time and slammed into it.
Shortly after Jeep was also unable to see the crash and slammed into the pickup truck.
According to police, no one was hurt.
