PEARLAND – Police are searching for the man who they say robbed a woman in a Pearland restaurant parking lot.

Pearland police say it happened just before 11p.m. Sunday in the Gringo's Mexican Kitchen parking lot near the 3400 block of East Circle Drive.

Officials say someone called police saying he heard a woman screaming about a man who had stolen her money.

He also told police that the male suspect was on a bicycle traveling south on Spring Circle East and the victim was following the bike in an orange Mustang.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim about a block away from the parking lot.

The victim told police she was a waitress at Gringo's and was leaving work when she was approached by the suspect.

The suspect demanded that she give him all of her money, so she gave him her work apron.

When the victim began to scream, she told police the suspect tried to cover her nose and mouth and grabbed the back of her neck with his other hand.

She said the suspect repeatedly told her to "shut up" and then threw her to the ground.

Police said the victim followed the suspect as he drove away on a bicycle.

She followed him into a backyard, where he lost control and fell off the bike.

The victim said the suspect then ran southbound through yards and crossed Shadybend Drive.

Police officers and a K-9 unit searched for the suspect, but he was not found.

Authorities describe the suspect as a six feet tall, large and light-skinned man.

The name of the victim has not been released.
