2 pickup trucks collide in Pasadena

PASADENA, Texas – A man was taken into custody Tuesday, accused of driving while intoxicated, after slamming into a pickup truck in Pasadena.

The crash happened around 12 a.m. on Space Center Boulevard and Fairmont Parkway. According to police, a man driving a red pickup truck was heading eastbound on Fairmont and ran a red light. The red pickup then smashed into a black pickup truck, police said.

The driver of the black truck and his female passenger were trapped and injured. A witness rushed to their aid.

"It was a big, loud noise. I went over there and got the guy out of the black Ford pickup, went to get his girlfriend or whomever that was in the truck. She was bleeding and stuff. Her leg was messed up," said John Sowll, witness.

The woman was taken to a hospital by a medical helicopter. The injured man was taken by ambulance.

The suspect's name was not released. Police said he would face DWI charges.
