HOUSTON – A driver ran over a pedestrian trying to cross an east Houston freeway, killing him.
Around 1 a.m. Saturday, a man attempted to walk across I-10 at an unprotected area. Police said he started from the south side and was crossing the eastbound lanes when a black Jaguar struck him and knocked him down.

Police said several more drivers -- unaware or unable to stop -- also ran over him.
The man died at the scene.
The driver of the Jaguar who initially hit him stopped and waited for police. No charges were filed.
The victim's name has not been released.
