HOUSTON – One suspect was shot by officers after a police chase on the east side.
Houston police say it all started with a suspicious persons call at the Academy at Market and Uvalde. Officers confronted the suspects, who then fled in a vehicle.
Police say officers pursued the suspects until their SUV crashed and flipped and the chase ended at I-10 and Normandy.
One of the suspects was shot and apprehended, police say. The suspect was transported to Ben Taub Hospital, where the suspect is in critical condition.
The second suspect was also captured and is being questioned by police.
The East Freeway feeder road westbound is closed between Uvalde/Market and Normandy for the police investigation. It's also blocking the exit to Normandy on the I-10 main lanes.
