HPD: Driver involved in 2 accidents a mile apart

HOUSTON – A car slammed into two vehicles in two separate accidents in southwest Houston.

Police said shortly 11 p.m. Wednesday, the driver of Mustang struck a vehicle in an apartment complex parking lot. The driver took off, heading westbound on Beverly Hill Street when he hit a Toyota Tundra head-on at the Fountainview intersection, about a mile from the first wreck, investigators said.

Police said the driver tried to take off, but police spotted him on the scene. The driver of the Tundra was not seriously injured.

The passenger in the Mustang was taken to a hospital in stable condition before being moved downtown for a blood test and questioning.

Police said alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
