Father wanted by police after daughter, 2, suffered severe burns

HOUSTON – Police are asking for help as they try to locate a father whose 2-year-old daughter was found with severe burns on her body.

Police said back in June, Aaron Duckworth was home when his daughter was injured. Burn injuries were then seen on the toddler's buttocks and right foot by day care personnel following a period of time where child was left in Duckworth's care.

As a result of a CPS investigation, police said the girl was taken to the hospital where she was treated for second-degree burns to both buttock cheeks and her right foot.

Duckworth claimed to be aware of the injuries, but doctors said the injuries to the toddler were not consistent with what he told them.

Duckworth is wanted for a charge of injury to a child by omission.

Anyone who can help police locate Duckworth is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at (713) 222-TIPS (8477). Anonymous tips can also be submitted online and by texting TIP610 plus your tip to CRIMES (274637).
