Fatal shooting during drug deal referred to grand jury

Police are on the scene investigating the shooting

HOUSTON – The homeowner's son who police said shot and killed a man during an alleged drug deal in southwest Houston will soon face a grand jury.

The shooting occurred around 3:45 p.m. Friday at a residence on Townwood near Dragonwick.

Police said a marijuana deal involving the victim, 19-year-old David Charles Endsley, and two buyers took place at the home.

According to Houston police, after the deal was made, the two buyers and Endsley pulled out guns and tried to rob the resident of the home and another person inside.

The resident, a 23-year-old man, pulled out his own gun and shot Endsley, police said.

Officials said the two other suspects ran out of the home and got into a car, taking with them the majority of the marijuana.

The shooting has now been referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.
