HOUSTON – A driver died after he crashed his pickup into the back of a cargo truck in east Houston.
Around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, investigators said a cargo truck broke down and was parked in an emergency lane on I-10 near Freeport Street.

Detectives said a pickup was seen weaving back and forth. The driver suddenly veered into the emergency lane and slammed into the back end of the cargo truck, officials said.
Investigators said the man driving the pickup died on impact.
Emergency crews transported the cargo truck's driver to the hospital with minor injuries.
The drivers' names were not released.
