Police said when the vehicle went over the railroad tracks at Hirsch Road, it went airborne.  The driver then lost control of the car, swerved to the left, plowed through a chain link fence and an overgrown field and eventually slammed into a large tree.

Both men remained trapped until firefighters rescued them.

Police said both men were transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition.  Police performed a blood draw at the hospital to test for alcohol.
