Suspicious white powder found at a Houston fire station

Investigators: Powder appears to be controlled substance

HOUSTON – An investigation is underway at a Houston fire station where authorities found a white powder that appears to be a controlled substance.

According to investigators, the powder was discovered at Fire Station 17 Thursday night.

A source at the Fire Department said the substance is cocaine.

The Houston Fire Department is conducting its own investigation as police work on their case.

Neither department has provided further details.
