HOUSTON – A suspected copper thief tried to run from police, but didn't get far before being arrested Friday morning.
Police said an alarm called them to Lopez Houston Metals on Sawyer and Edwards in west Houston.

Officers said they saw a man on the roof of the metal processing business.
But, when the man saw officers he jumped off the roof and tried to run away.
Police caught the man and took him into custody.
They said he was trying to steal copper.
