A resident opened fire on two suspects who were trying to break into an east Harris County apartment Thursday, deputies said.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, two suspects were trying to get inside an apartment in the 12800 block of Woodforest at Forestwood Drive around 6:50 a.m.

That is when the resident grabbed a gun and began shooting, striking one of the would-be intruders.
The injured suspect was transported to the hospital for treatment. The other ran away.
