Son of Galena Park mayor to face judge after reportedly violating conditions of bond

HOUSTON – The son of the Galena Park mayor will face a judge Friday to answer questions as to whether he violated a key condition of his bond. Sergio Jesus Moya, 28, was charged last year with possession of child pornography, and a condition of his pretrial release states he is to have no contact with anyone under the age of 18.

Officials with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office said they received information Moya attended a back-to-school health fair over the weekend. The fair was hosted by the city of Galena Park and Moya’s mother is the city’s mayor.

Moya is scheduled to be in court Friday morning to face questions as to whether his attendance at the fair violated a condition of his bond.

“We believe this attack is politically motivated and contend Mr. Moya did not violate his bond,” said Moya’s attorney, Chip Lewis.
