HOUSTON – More than two dozen homeowners who live along Fleming Drive in the Wood Shadows and Sound Wood subdivisions are dealing with shattered windows and a shattered sense of security after vandals shot out windows Sunday morning.
“This is going to cost me $150 at least just for the glass and I don’t know how much the labor is going to be. I am very mad about this," said Marcos Medina.
Medina, a father of three, said he couldn’t believe it when his wife called him at work Sunday morning to tell him the window to his Chevrolet Tahoe had been shot out.
His insurance deductible is $500, so that makes using his insurance ridiculous, he said.
“It is so wrong," he said. "I have to pay because some guys are messing around breaking windows."
One woman who had the back window of her truck shot out blames the vandalism on teenagers who she believes were playing a game.
“This is nothing but a game to these little punks, and that’s what they are: punks -- punks who are costing us a lot of money," the woman said.
Police are investigating and neighbors on Fleming Drive are parking their vehicles inside for fear it could happen again.
No arrests in the case had been made as of Sunday night.
