Threat made against Delta flight 227 at Bush Airport

Passengers, luggage being re-screened

HOUSTON – Two threats, two different airlines, two different cities -- all coming from one airport. The good news is: All the passengers are safe.

Threats with no credibility are still a major concern when it comes to safety in the sky.

Delta Flight 227 didn't take off from Bush Intercontinental this morning before the threat was phoned in.

Everyone had to get off the plane.

"We rescreened all the passengers and the baggage to ensure there was no credibility to the threat," Bill Begley, Houston Airport Systems, said.

American Eagle Flight 5931 operated by compass airlines made it off the ground from IAH.

The flight landed at LAX around 9 this morning.

The plane had a military escort and passengers were met with quite the welcome from police.

Passengers said they were forced to hold their hands up on the seat in front of them for about 15-20 minutes

Bomb-sniffing dogs made sure there were no explosives on board either flight.

Airport operations went back to normal as the Delta flight made it to Atlanta without a problem.

Despite the false alarm, it was still alarming to confused passengers.

The threats are still under investigation.
