HOUSTON - Rapper Bun B has announced that he will collaborate with the Houston Symphony, a first of its kind.
On November 14, the Anti-Defamation League will commemorate its 100 years of service, by putting on "Houston in Concert Against Hate."
The Symphony will provide backing for Bun B as he performs original lyrics in honor of Houston-area civil rights and education heroes Esther Campos, Michael Feinberg, Dr. Thomas Freeman and Carol Shattuck.
"The symphony and all their infinite wisdom thought it would be a great idea to incorporate modern music and classical music into the concert," Bun B said. "They came up with the great idea of actually considering a rapper," he said.
Their stories will be told by Emmy award-winning actress Alfre Woodard
Also during the event the ADL will present its Centennial Award to Marvin D. Nathan for his contributions to fighting anti-semitism and securing justice and fair treatment for all.
Proceeds from the concert will go to programs and services that address the root causes of hatred and bigotry.
