HOUSTON – Police are investigating after a woman crashed her car and died Sunday morning in south Houston.
According to investigators, the victim was driving southbound in a BMW 740i near 10000 Gulf Freeway around 6 a.m. when she swerved out of her lane. Police said the woman drove into a grassy area between the freeway and service road, where the victim crashed into the concrete base of a light pole.

The woman died at the scene, according to paramedics.
Officers said no other vehicles or people were involved in the crash.
