HOUSTON – Authorities released a picture of a man Friday morning who they said is responsible for a rash of robberies in southeast Houston.
The 10 robberies happened between July 27 and Sept. 4, police said.
Police said that in each hold up, the man pretends to be a customer at the store and walks up to the register as if he is going to purchase items. When the cashier opens the register, he points a gun at them and demands money.
"It's severe in nature and he needs to get caught," said Jeff Brieden, robbery investigator, HPD.
"It's fast. The robberies happen really quickly," Brieden continued.
The robberies happened at:
- Walgreens at Old Spanish Trail and Scott Street on July 27 at 11:40 p.m.
- Home Depot at Gulf Freeway and Woodridge Drive on July 31 at 5:05 p.m.
- Family Dollar at Telephone Road and Pecan Street on Aug. 5 at 1:50 p.m.
- Family Dollar at Telephone Road and Dumble Street on Aug. 10 at 5:15 p.m.
- Walgreens at Cullen Boulevard and Reed Road on Aug. 13 at 2:20 p.m.
- Dollar General at Cullen Boulevard and Wenda Street on Aug. 15 at 3:55 p.m.
- Family Dollar at Griggs Road and Milart Street on Aug. 21 at 10:20 a.m.
- Lowes at Gulfgate Center on Aug. 21 at 8:50 p.m.
- Home Depot at Gulf Freeway and Woodridge Drive on Aug. 27 at 9:35 p.m.
- CVS Pharmacy at Broadway and Bellfort streets on Sept. 4 at 9:35 p.m.
The man was described as black, between 20 and 28 years old, about 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 180 pounds. He was last seen driving a black Dodge Charger or Chrysler 300, police said.
