Police: Man exposes self in library

Police: Incident happened on library on Willowick near Westheimer

HOUSTON – Police are looking for a man who exposed himself to a woman inside a public library in River Oaks. It happened Tuesday afternoon at the Looscan Branch on Willowick near Westeheimer.

The woman said the man was wearing an overcoat when he exposed himself. She apparently screamed and the man took off, heading straight past the help desk and out the front.

Michael Crofut was walking through the front door when he ran into all the commotion.

"I noticed a gentleman coming out with his shirt unbuttoned and thought it was just strange and odd," says Crofut. "Why would a man be coming out half-dressed from the public library?"

The woman called 911. The man was last seen running west on Willowick toward Westheimer.

The library does have surveillance cameras inside and outside the building. Security will look over the recordings to see if the exposure was captured. If so -- they'll turn over the recordings to police.
