Restaurant Report Card: Rodents and slime in the ice machine

HOUSTON – Roaches were the big problem at Berryhill Baja Grill, at the Memorial City Mall, this week.

Health inspectors found two dead roaches on top of the ice machine. Workers were told to get rid of them immediately.

There was the same situation at Great Khan Mongolian Grill, at 2150 South Highway 6.

This time a roach was found inside the ice machine. Workers must throw out all the ice and clean the machine.

At Frenchy's Fried Chicken, at 5338 West Orem Drive, five more roaches were in the kitchen's food prep area.

The restaurant has to hire a pest control service to kill those bugs.

Over at Osaka Japanese Restaurant, at 515 Westheimer, 19 pounds of food had to be tossed out because it was not safe to eat.

Five hundred pounds of ice had to also be trashed because it was covered in slime.

The slime bug hits again, this time at OTC Midtown, at 2708 Bagby.

Five hundred pounds of ice had to be thrown out because it was shrouded in slime.

And the slime monster didn't stop there.

At Nelore Churrascaria, at 4412
Montrose Blvd., the ice machine was shut down because it was filled with pink and black slime.

Ice had to be tossed, and the machine needs to be cleaned.

Bango Burger on Greenway Plaza and Five Guys Burgers and Fries on Westheimer had spotless inspections this week.
