Cyclist struck, killed by vehicle near Lake Houston

Police say cyclist was riding across traffic

HOUSTON – Police said a cyclist was killed when he was hit by a car Tuesday morning near Lake Houston.

The crash was reported about 11 a.m. in the 11000 block of East F.M. Road 1960, near the intersection of Lake Houston Parkway.

According to Houston police, a 31-year-old man was crossing the road on a bicycle when he was hit by a pickup traveling west on 1960.

The cyclist was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officials will later release the identity of the victim.

Police said no charges have been filed in connection with the crash.
