HUMBLE, Texas – A lawsuit has been filed against a Humble restaurant where a number of patrons reported getting sick on Father's Day weekend. Iguana Joe's was temporarily shut down in June.

The Marler Clark law firm filed the lawsuit Tuesday on behalf of a child who got sick. The complaint was filed in Harris County District Court by the child's parents, who are represented by Marler Clark and Houston attorney John Ramsey.

According to the complaint, the child ate food at Iguana Joe's on June 18 and suffered symptoms over the next several days. According to the attorneys, the child's doctor ordered tests that returned positive for salmonella.

Local 2 did call Iguana Joe's for a comment on the lawsuit Tuesday. There was not a manager available. However, we are expecting a call back. The employee who answered the phone said the restaurant is still closed.

Health inspectors said they discovered critical violations several times at the restaurant. Those violations included off-temperature foods.
