Officers track down men who stole from pawn shop, officials say

HOUSTON – Two men led police on a chase after smashing a pawn shop's front window and stealing a piece of equipment, officials said. 

Authorities said police received an alarm had been triggered about 4 a.m. at a Cash America pawn shop at 6120 Bellfort Ave. 

When police arrived at the pawn shop, they noticed the front window had been smashed in. 

Police tracked down the men in a truck on Telephone Road and attempted to pull the truck over.

Police said the two men in the truck led officers on a chase before the truck went out of control and crashed. 

The two men were taken into custody.

The men had backed their truck into the business' window in order to steal the piece of equipment, authorities said.
