Neighborhood surveillance videos capture car thieves in action

HOUSTON – Surveillance video recorded from multiple cameras inside the Yorktown Colony Subdivision in Northwest Harris County shows a young man and a woman looking for unlocked cars and items to steal on June 14.

They are seen breaking into at least one vehicle and leaving behind a mess of shattered glass.

Neighbors have an idea of who the duo is because their license plate number and vehicle was captured on video.

"Someone comes into our subdivision we can tell you what time they came in and what time they left," said Monroe, the vice president of the Home Owners Association.

They have turned all the information over to police and are desperate to see these two caught.

"We want them caught, we don't want a slap on the wrist. We want them in jail," he said.

Neighbors are uneasy knowing these two are lurking around their property at night while everyone is asleep.

The crimes were committed just before 2 a.m.

"You come into our neighborhood, we're going to get you," Monroe said. "We're gonna get you."
