Mother outraged after son is assaulted by adult after school

HOUSTON – Tricia Harrison, an upset parent who says her child was hit by another parent, said, "It's terrifying to realize there is someone like that in our community."

Harrison says her 11-year-old son and two other kids were hit by another parent while at a school playground.

And according to court documents, it was all caught school surveillance video.

"One of the sergeants of the HISD police told me they're extremely disturbing videos. And he's pretty sure I don't want to see it," said Harrison.

Now, 50-year-old Nebjosa Bandovic is facing a felony charge for injury to a child.

Authorities say the incident happened last Thursday after school hours on the West University Elementary playground.

That's when the mother says Bandovic's son had an altercation with another student over a cellphone, but when Bandovic showed up, he chased her son and three other students.

Harrison said, "For a child to feel like he has to be scared of an adult acting irrationally and violently, that's not in a child's conscience."

Court documents state the kids ran to the front of the school, banging on the door in fear to get away.

Investigators say that's when Bandovic ran up to kids and "slapped one of them with an open hand across the face, leaving a red bruise and pain."

The mother says Bandovic also hit her son in the back of the head and punched the other child.

"For harming them physically, mentally and emotionally, you know; I know my son will probably never be the same. I hope he's brought to justice," said Harrison.

Bandovic is expected in court Tuesday.
