Adults, teenagers arrested after Halloween party in Friendswood

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas – Friendswood police arrested two parents Saturday night, accusing them of providing alcohol to minors.

It happened during a Halloween party with 100 teenagers in attendance in the 700 block of North Clear Creek Drive.

Glenda Gatten says she got a heads up from her neighbor that she was throwing a party.

"She texted saying I'm having a party for my twin girls, they're seniors wanted to know if I could park my car in your driveway I said sure," Gatten said.

Hours later the Gattens say their street was lined with police cars.

Friendswood police say just after 10 p.m. Saturday neighbors started complaining about the noise from the party and cars blocking the road.

Police said Kelly Kennedy and Gregory Kennedy claimed there was no underage drinking going on and agreed to shut down the party.

But less than 90 minutes later the party was back on and the cops were back on scene making arrests.

"I saw one get led away in handcuffs, one get rolled from there down to here on a gurney and loaded into EMS," Ken Gatten said.

Police said one teenager was so intoxicated he couldn't stand or communicate. He later became ill in a police car was taken to a hospital.

Another teenager was passed out in the middle of the road.

Police said several other teenagers jumped in the rain swollen creek to get away, but were rescued.

The teenagers face charges of evading arrest, resisting arrest and consumption of alcohol.
