HOUSTON – A man was shot in the face and killed at a northwest Houston intersection.

The victim was shot and killed shortly before midnight Monday near Tabor Street and Pecore Street.

"Some residents heard some gunshots and called 911. The responding units found a Hispanic male, shot in the face, dead in the street," HPD Officer Mark Condon said.

The victim, a 27-year-old man, was found shot near a stop sign.

"We have a couple of witnesses. We are looking into a few leads, but nothing substantial right now," Condon said.
