Man shoots, kills wife's boyfriend, deputies say

HOUSTON – A man was shot and killed Monday night by his girlfriend's soon-to-be ex-husband in northwest Harris County, deputies said.

Detectives said Christina Roman, who is in the process of divorcing Benjamin Aguilar, was at a home in the 7200 block of Prairie Village Drive in the Cypress area when her current boyfriend, Collins White, arrived to pick her up around 5 p.m.

Aguilar and Aldo Aguilar also showed up at the house, deputies said. The two men, who were both armed, approached White as he was loading a crib into his vehicle, deputies said. The three got into an argument and Benjamin, 27,  shot White at least twice, according to deputies.

Aldo and Benjamin fled the scene.

"Whenever the boyfriend arrived, the suspect shows up, produced a handgun. Words were exchanged, at which time the husband, suspect, discharged his firearm, striking the victim at least twice," Sgt. Robert Spurgeon, with the Harris County Sheriff's Office, said.

White was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"Just three pops and a helicopter. That's all I can tell you. And I didn't even know what it was until I run outside to see LifeFlight landing. And I'm like, oh my God it was shots. You know, because it's so quiet," neighbor Stepfanie Alexander said.

Both Aldo and Benjamin were arrested and charged with murder.
