Man robbed of cash, coins after leaving SW Houston bank

HOUSTON – Police are looking for two men who took a bag of money from a man who had just left a bank in southwest Houston.

Police said an employee of Variedades El Salvador, at 5801 Bissonnet, had just left the Bank of America in the 5100 block of Bellaire Boulevard and returned to the restaurant with a bag of coins and cash when he was confronted by two black men while walking across the parking lot.

The first suspect grabbed the bag, causing it to fall to the ground. The second suspect then picked up the bag, and both suspects ran to a gray Dodge Charger and left the area.

Police believe the suspects had been monitoring the bank and had targeted the employee due to the large money bag. This type of crime is commonly referred to as "jugging."
